Sylvester Stallone Reportedly Cuts Jelly Roll Scene From *Tulsa King*

Jelly Roll’s attempt to expand beyond music may be facing another setback, with a reported *Tulsa King* cameo allegedly removed after Sylvester Stallone intervened.

Sylvester Stallone Reportedly Cuts Jelly Roll Scene From *Tulsa King*

Jelly Roll’s post-music career is already taking heat, and now a reported production decision involving Tulsa King could make that transition even harder.

According to the latest claims, Sylvester Stallone personally pushed to remove a five-to-seven-minute scene featuring Jelly Roll from the upcoming fourth season of the Paramount+ series. The scene reportedly had the singer playing himself in a backstage confrontation with Dwight Manfredi, Stallone’s character.

If true, this is a pretty brutal development. Jelly Roll apparently spent roughly 48 hours filming the cameo earlier this year, only for the sequence to be cut during last-minute edits to the second episode.

What reportedly happened

The deleted scene allegedly involved Jelly Roll and Dwight arguing over ticket sales and a business deal connected to his management. Things reportedly escalated to the point where Jelly Roll’s security team escorted Dwight out of the backstage area.

That material would have been a fairly substantial subplot for a cameo. Losing six minutes of footage this close to release also means the episode may need to be restructured, with other deleted scenes restored or existing sequences rearranged to keep the pacing intact.

The report claims Stallone, who is also an executive producer on Tulsa King, made the call after becoming frustrated with Jelly Roll’s recent public controversies and attitude. Paramount executives and the creative team then allegedly informed Jelly Roll and his representatives that the scene would not appear in the final cut.

Naturally, that reportedly did not go over well. Jelly Roll and his management are said to be seeking reimbursement for the work that was filmed.

A familiar joke from Tulsa King

There is an extra layer to this because Jelly Roll already appeared in Tulsa King during the second season. That scene played his public persona for laughs, with Dwight describing him as delusional and even referring to him as a “jellyfish.”

At the time, it was an odd but harmless celebrity cameo. Now, with Jelly Roll facing backlash over his Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance and the Trump-related jokes that followed, the decision to bring him back looks much more complicated.

The larger issue is that Jelly Roll has been trying to build a career outside music. That means acting roles, television appearances, and opportunities that depend heavily on studios believing he can bring value without becoming a distraction.

Right now, the opposite appears to be happening.

The bigger problem

The controversy surrounding the Kimmel appearance has changed how many people view Jelly Roll’s public image. Critics now see a disconnect between the humble, relatable persona he built through music and the way he has handled recent media appearances.

Whether that criticism is fair or not, Hollywood is rarely sentimental. If a cameo creates more headaches than value, the footage gets cut. Even a performer with a large fanbase is replaceable when a production is trying to protect its pacing and reputation.

For now, Paramount has not publicly confirmed the reported edit, and the final version of Tulsa King season four will have to speak for itself. But if this story is accurate, Stallone just made it clear that Jelly Roll’s name alone does not guarantee a place in Dwight Manfredi’s world.
